Pre-1947 — The Spark of Trade
In the bustling lanes of pre-partition Calcutta, a young visionary, Mian Muhammad Shafi, laid the foundation of a leather and skin trade. 1956 — A Global Realization
Traveling the world changes perspective. In 1956, Mian Muhammad Siddiq saw what others didn’t: the future was not in exporting raw materials, but in crafting value. That revelation shifted the family’s course from traders to manufacturers. This wasn’t just business—it was evolution.
1958 — First Pakistani Leather Brand Goes Global
With chrome- and vegetable-tanned leather, the family began exporting under the “Muhammad Shafi” name. It wasn’t just product that was crossing borders—it was trust, quality, and the beginning of Pakistan’s leather story.
1960s–70s — THE TANNERY
From leather gloves to garments and carpets, every product told a story of craftsmanship and ambition. These decades weren’t just about growth—they were about planting roots in every direction.
1973 — EXPANSIONS, AGRICULTURE & FARMING
Leather led to land. A new tannery opened in Lahore while the family stepped into agriculture. With fertile lands under their care, they cultivated more than crops—they cultivated self-sufficiency.
